Course Overview - Study Remedial Massage NOW!
This tactile remedial massage course provides a solid foundation, equipping the graduate Remedial Massage Therapist with the required skills in a diverse range of therapeutic massage therapies, based on Biological Sciences, and intensive training in Massage. This remedial massage course provides the opportunity for students to attain practical skills within a professional clinic environment. Components of this course may also be credited towards an Advanced Diploma qualification.
Graduate Skills
The graduate Remedial Massage Therapist will be able to perform relaxation and therapeutic massage plus employ various other therapeutic massage techniques to gain results with clients suffering from various muscular complaints.
Students will be trained in Swedish Massage (MA1), Deep Tissue Massage (MA2), Trigger Point Therapy (MA3) and Muscle Energy Technique (MA4). Students may include other modalities, such as Reflexology, Bowen Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage and/or Aromatherapy into their course with their elective choices (electives may vary from provider to provider).
Electives
Two electives are required to be completed during the diploma of remedial massage course; these include a diverse selection, such as Bach Flower Remedies, Kinesiology and Champissage (Indian Head Massage) (elective/short course brochures are available on request). Electives may also lead to additional qualifications, e.g. Diploma of Reflexology. We are responsive to your needs, offering additional electives as we identify your keenest areas of interest; however exemptions will not be given for electives (electives may vary from provider to provider).
Clinical Experience
Students are required to participate in a minimum of 200 log book hours. This satisfies the practical aspects required for completion of this remedial massage courses, alongside enjoying the valuable experience of student clinic, where the majority of your log book hours will be accrued. This experiential learning provides students with confidence, hands on experience, and the opportunity to apply their skills in a professional setting, with the reassurance of direct supervision by qualified practitioners.

By the end of your year of studies you will have a sound understanding of the human body, a strong set of massage skills and the fundamentals of nutrition. This information will be also be integrated into differential diagnosis and treatment protocols specifically for Massage Therapists. Practice Management studies and Student Clinic experience will ensure you have access to all the necessary skills you will need to practice independently, as you prepare to graduate.
